Make A Little Noise DVD
After a successful run with his last few albums, the time
has come for Halifax talent Joel Plaskett to release the
DVD that retrospects a career that is not even close to seeing
retirement. Released on Maple Music, the two-disc set, Make
A Little Noise, is titled after the third and final track
on the bonus CD that comes with the set. Properly named,
the song itself encompasses much of the versatile career
that the Canadian native has fostered for himself. He’s
someone that you either love or you haven’t heard.
Lyrically, Plaskett has always been able to tap into the
vein of his listeners without being overly cryptic or cliché.
He hits the nail directly on the head, and accompanies his
sonic scenarios with music that appeals to a wide variety
of music fans. There are those that don’t entrench
themselves in music like writers, editors, publicists, and
other artists that love his music for the simplicity and
the appeal that sounds much more spot on than Plaskett’s
running competitors. On the flipside, those who are used
to music passing through their hands faster than a waterfall
often take to Plaskett because he happens to have everything
that one would find appealing. The talent is there, the sincerity,
the artistic integrity, and the ability to convey it in a
unique sound with a familiar twist draws you in.
Having done full out rock ‘n roll, acoustic solo,
and records either with a full band on or his lonesome, Joel
Plaskett now has quite the resume to be releasing Make A
Little Noise. He’ll be currently performing a small
tour in the next month to promote the release of the DVD/EP,
