The X-Files: I Want To Believe (this movie had a good plot)

Dear Chris Carter and the rest of you poor souls involved in making the newest X-Files movie,

Just who do you think you are?

I mean, really?

Did you really think after all these years, you could just hype us fans all up, withholding the title and plot of the movie the entire time of production to ensure it didn't leak on the internet, only to produce a movie that barely resembled the lamest of episodes? I mean, really.

Sure, some of the Mulder/Scully plot line was good - I always did wonder what would become of their dynamic together. And sure, Mulder is still funny with his quirky one liners. But please, could you at least involve some sort of plot point that fans would want to see - like something spooky or a government conspiracy to continue the mytharc? I mean, if I wanted to see an average, run of the mill FBI thriller, I would have seen something else. Where was my Sci-Fi???

You all should be ashamed.

Ungreatfully Yours,

Jess "I really wanted to believe" Pye

"I really wish I could grow a moustache"

Natalie Portman's Shaved Head has hit the nail on it's head. Truer words were never spoken. While facial hair doesn't make nearly as much sense in the oppressive summer heat, the general glorious existence of all facial hair collectively should not be forgotten during these sweaty few months.

When I was six my dad had a magnificent beard. Much to my horror, out of no where, and without adequate warning, he shaved off all the wired hairs on his chin. Being only six, I was mortified to see that some strange clean shaven man had replaced my father. Luckily I put two and two together soon enough.
I think I can safely say this was when the seed, that is my love of facial hair, was planted.

As a girl, unfortunately, I will never be able to don a trash stash, beard, or sideburns.

That aside, I will always be an avid appreciator of those who do, especially during the summer.

Hello, My name is Margaret, the new New Media Intern/Co-op. Now that you all think I'm probably quite strange, I assure you I am not.

Listen to Natalie Portman's Shaved Head! They are playing with CSS and the Go! Team in August at the Roxy.
