Muto

Muto is a South American graffiti artist, I personally think his work is incredible.

High School Heros

Someone emailed me this picture of Josh Schwartz's wedding the other day. It was posted on POPSUGAR because Rachel Bilson was in it, which makes sense, since she shows up in all the shows Schwartz has been a part of.

Seriously, Josh, there's NO WAY you can't see this Rabbi looks like the head of your high school. Not a chance. They're identical. Except for their religion. Admit it.

Music Bloggers Unite!

Give to DonorsChoose

Planetary and Donorschoose are working together to raise money for schools! Starting October 1, the Blogger Challenge will pit all different types of blogs against each other in a money raising, all out charity war. Music blogs will compete against each other, but more importantly will be competing as a category against Tech Blogs, Mommy Blogs, Knitting Blogs, and more. And you know how those Knitting blogs are!!

This is the first of many posts about this, so please, go to our giving page and donate money to help children in schools. If not for the kids, then do it so Music Blogs can claim domination!

The Page Is Here

Do it now and all money will apply to the Oct. challenge!

Political Humor

In case you hadn't noticed, Sarah Palin's kids have some weird names. Bristol? Track? Trigg? Maybe it's just an Alaska thing, but we found this fun blog post.

My Sarah Palin name is Jeep Pike Palin. What's yours?

In all seriousness....

So all the Planetary gang likes to have fun, just ask Jess Pye, the current drunken belching champion. Or Adam "Late Night" Lewis. But we can be serious, too, and when it comes to something as important as whose plan we're going to follow for the next four years, and possible the next fifty or more, I for one get panicked with seriousness.

I have my guy, and I do care who people are voting for, but I'll keep my soapbox in the closet for now. I just wanted to tell you to vote. You can start by registering, checking to see if you're registered, or finding your voting location here. It's actually easy, and I've done it and haven't gotten one email from it.

One last time:

Helping Bands on Tour

Gas is so expensive nowadays I'm surprised to see as many bands on the road touring this fall. I've never had to worry about where to sleep while on tour (knock, knock, knock on wood as my scoliosis would NOT agree with that.) But for many on the road, finding a place to stay every night is sometimes not so easy and no one wants to sleep in a van every night.

Fortunately for all those bands on the road/about to hit the road, there's a new social networking site called "Better Than The Van." I just happened upon this Web site tonight, but it's been getting mad press so hopefully all my girls and boys out there on the road know about it already.

Hopefully the couches offered will be as comfy as these, sans T. Cruise:

Hey Ladies....

There are few things as awesome as Nuwan Piyasena. He works with great bands, and is a great guy. To solidify his position on the top of the world's most amazing people, I've been sent a link to a Time Out article with him in it, and this incredible photo. I was also told he was supposed to dress nicely and have a prop on him. No prop, no dress nice.

Well done again, Nuwan. Well done indeed.

Exploding Dog

I always liked this site. Alana was the one that showed it to me forever ago, yet again showing off her genius. (Speaking of her genius, she runs the Stranded In Stereo shows at Rehab now, so go see her. The bands are great and it's only three bucks.)

Anyway, check out explodingdog.com. It's fantastic and worth a bit of slacking off time.

yup, I kickball

I'm not afraid to admit it. I kickball. Wed night, themed every week, followed up by drinking competitions, break dancing, flexing, and so much more. I can't even wait for tomorrow night. Am I a frat kid? Not even close. Does it get frat-like? Oh yes.

And no, Santa wasn't the theme this week.

Food and Weather updates

Fortunately Hurricane Hanna wasn't too terribly destructive and I am thus able to make this blog post.

The hype Hanna received was very interesting to me. I am from Pensacola, Fl in the Gulf Coast, and hurricanes there have a much fiercer quality that Hanna didn't even begin to touch.

Nevertheless, I was thankful for power, though I still lack ac.

It seems that fall is on it's way- at one point today it was 65 degrees out. Welcome back fall, I can't wait for hot coffee and good fall tours again. If only it wasn't disgustingly wet out right now.

This post, however, is not solely about weather.
A craze has struck the Boston office, Lundberg Rice Chips. You should try them. Everyone here pretty much favors Nacho Cheese, but I'm pretty fond of Pico de Gallo.

Seaweed, freaks me out.

Also-lets all hope the Phillip Seymour Hoffman/Johnny Depp Batman rumors are true.
