New York based Producer, Composer, Director, and multi-Instrumentalist Frederick Sargolini (aka FS - FS Beatz), began DJing and playing piano and guitar at age 10. His fascination with electronics and music began when constructing his first, home-built mixer out of an Atari, spare circuitry and switches from Radio Shack. In his very early teens, he became known for making music for local talent while entering his first of many conservatories for music. At the age of 16 he was signed to his first, major record deal with PWL/Polygram/Universal Records, and a publishing deal with Chrysalis Music Publishing.
Straight out of high school, Fred was hired by Character Music (Troy Taylor, Charles Farrar) and began production and remix work for major label acts such as Carl Thomas, Soul 2 Soul, and Brandy, meanwhile still hungering for something further off the beaten path. He continued his training for Jazz and Classical piano at the Brooklyn Conservatory for Music, when he met Aaron Albano (Ming) at a NYC loft party, and the two founded MING+FS and their adjacent Madhattan Studios record label. Over the next 10 years, the duo of MING+FS released four full-length albums and over thirty 12" singles, while touring the world with their critically acclaimed 4-turntable hybrid, electronic-hip hop live show. Fred has shared the stage with the likes of Sting, St. Germain, Run-DMC, Burning Spear, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, and Meat Beat Manifesto. Fred's music has also appeared in countless TV shows like CSI NY, Sex In The City, Weeds, and The Real World just to name a few.
In 2006 Fred met kindred spirit Kirsten Price and began co-writing and producing "Magic Tree" and other core songs off her debut album on Sony/Columbia/Twist Records. "Magic Tree" is also featured on the SHOWTIME series The L Word and CBS's CSI. Other highlights in 2006 include scoring the theme for Dinner Takes All on TLC/Discovery Channel, and creating music for the Steve Buscemi movie Delirious. In late 2006 Fred launched his own company FS Music/Patriarch Recordings. In 2007 he scored the film Airplanes directed Jen Heck, Airplanes won 1st Place Winner of the PlanetOut Short Movie Awards at Sundance. Other collaborations this year include working with Northern League to create the gritty track "Gone In 60 Seconds" heard in the No. 1 movie Stomp The Yard, while producing and co-writing Diet Kong's self-titled debut album. 2007 brought Fred's directorial debut with the music video for Diet Kong's "Much Love In The Evil Sound"
Fred's love for creating music and art without boundaries continues.............
