“Arizona-based Blackmarket use an arsenal of huge guitar riffs and pounding drums to make the words work in a different context: leave- it-all-out-onstage rock ‘n roll.” -- Flavorpill LA

Meet Mike Emerson, Langdon Chieffo, and Daryl Lamont: three childhood friends who started playing together in junior high and went on to form Blackmarket. Their sound is a compilation of chemistry, dedication and friendship that has led them to their release of their upcoming record St. Vincent Decor.
The band broke out from their hometown of Lake Havasu, Arizona and first hit the indie rock scene with their full length record, The Elephant In The Room in November of 2008 on No Office Records. Produced by Sean Slade (Radiohead, Dinosaur Jr., Hole) and Matthew Ellard (Morphine, Weezer, Elliott Smith) the band was ready and armed for big things.
“We won the Amplify Festival [and contest] in Vegas a couple of years ago which launched an industry fiasco,” reveals vocalist Daryl. “Artificial buzz and hype led us to really dislike the whole business side of music, but [winning] it was an accomplishment nonetheless. We scored some management and an agent and more importantly a direction.”
Blackmarket went on to play the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, tour Germany, and most recently wrapped up a tour with the UK's Subways. Not a bad beginning to say the least.
St. Vincent Decor is out on April 20th via the Militia Group.
