The Grammy nominations for 2010 were announced last night and we’re proud to report that three of the artist we’ve worked with in 2010 have been nominated for awards! Alongside Lady Gaga, Eminem, and Arcade Fire, Margaret Cho, Cyndi Lauper, and Eastern Conference Champions (as part of the Twilight soundtrack) have been recognized for their hard work and talent.

Cho Dependent

Margaret Cho’s new musical comedy album, Cho Dependent, was named as one of the Grammy nominees for Best Comedy Album, along with albums from Flight of the Conchords, Kathy Griffin, Lewis Black and Robin Williams. Guest vocals on the album include Andrew Bird on “I’m Sorry,” Ben Lee on “Lice,” and Tegan and Sara on “Intervention” with a brand new video.

Cyndi Lauper - Memphis Blues

Cyndi Lauper’s Memphis Blues has been nominated in the Best Traditional Blues Album Vocal or Instrumental category. Other artists nominated for this category in 2010 include James Cotton, Charlie Musselwhite, Pinetop Perkins & Willie ‘Big Eyes’ Smith, and Jimmie Vaughan. This is Cyndi’s 14th nomination including the nomination for her last album Bring Ya To The Brink in 2009.

Eastern Conference Champions‘ track “A Million Miles an Hour” is featured on the The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Soundtrack and the album has been honored with a Grammy nod. Other contributors to the soundtrack include Muse, Florence + The Machine, The Black Keys, Band of Horses, Cee Lo Green and Vampire Weekend, with ECC being the only unsigned band on the album.

For the second year in a row, a “Twilight Saga” soundtrack has received a nomination for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for Motion Picture, Television or other Visual Media. (Twilight lost out last year to Slumdog Millionaire.) The soundtrack will be competing this year against Crazy Heart, Glee: The Music Volume 1,Tremé, and True Blood – Volume 2.

Working with Planetary has been awesome! Their weekly reports are super detailed and make it easy to track how the promo is doing. They have been super supportive and great and explaining the data we get every week! This has been super helpful as a first timer! I will personally be back!

Worked with Planetary on our first full length album on a US/CAN radio campaign. The album did well, charted all over North American stations and we got to make some in roads for interviews and live sessions. The weekly reports were very helpful as well.

I just finished an 8 week campaign with The Planetary Group. The entire team was professional, competent and friendly to work with. The campaign was very effective in getting my music very significant airplay with medium rotation on multiple station and even as high as a top 10 rotation.
