Today prominent culture magazine PopMatters.com premieres the video “Ride This Out” from Imaginary Cities, “one of Canada’s most buzzed about new groups” (PopMatters). The video was directed by Jeremy Fisher and done in animated line-drawn style. Fisher explains, “Using classic animation techniques and bold colours over a black background, we tried to visually meld the old with the new to embody the spirit of the song and the band.”
The origional footage was shot in three different cities and sometimes on mobile devices or small cameras and then sent to Fisher via email. Rusty Matyas conveys his excitement, “I love the final product. It’s fun, cute, colourful, classically Canadian and somehow dark undertones still linger. It suits the song perfectly.”
