Jonathan Bates’ solo project Big Black Delta was born from a several year hiatus from the music industry. After creating several EP’s and one LP with the Los Angeles based rock band Mellowdrone, Bates decided to leave the band in order to develop his conscious and create a different style of music. He bought a laptop from friend Alessandro Cortini (Nine Inch Nails, Sonoio) and from there started creating a minimal, innovative sound that would transform into Big Black Delta. With the help of female drum duo Mahsa Zargaran and Amy Wood, Jonathan Bates takes you on a journey through space with a heavy snare and electronica sound.
