Vancouver’s Said the Whale will be competing against Canada’s best up and comers for the Juno Award for New Group of the Year (even though they’ve been releasing music since 2007). The Juno Awards, for all you non-Canadians, is the biggest music awards show in Canada, with awards given to Canadian artists in the categories of Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, International Album of the Year, and other categories similar to the US Grammys. Other nominees at this year’s Junos include Justin Beiber, Michael Bublé, and Drake.
Said the Whale’s competition for New Group of the Year are Die Mannequin, Hollerado, Misteur Valaire, and My Darkest Days.
